PBLang 4.5 (c) 2003 - Martin Senftleben if you are into doing graphics and stuff, you are most welcome to try out making a new style for PBLang. Good examples are "flatland" and "ar_grey". Since I got these two really good examples, I have decided to settle on a method of integrating such styles with their own icons and buttons. The method is as follows: In the styles.php file which you create is a variable called $stylepref, which is the part that preceeds the images and buttons that belong to that particular style. This is relevant for all buttons which are placed in the templates/pb/images/top and the templates/pb/images/butt folders. So, if the style is called "ar_grey" and its $stylepref accordingly is "ar_grey_", a home-button which by default is called home.gif and matches that style, should be called ar_grey_home.gif When you select that style, the corresponding buttons are selected as well by PBLang. Buttons which go into the templates/pb/images-folder should be preceded with that prefix, too. Links to some of them will be set in the styles.php file, but others are set by PBLang, and then the $stylepref is consulted again. I will also create some default styles which contain the other button types that are available. Now, which buttons and images would be involved in making a set of images matching your style? There are the ficons, which are used for forums. There are currently the following ones: ficon_newest - for the list of latest messages ficon_n - indicating that there are new messages in the forum ficon_read - indicating that all messages in the forum have been read ficon_accessdenied - indicating that there is no access to this forum ficon2 - indicating an unread message ficon2_read - indicating a read message ficon2_sticky - indicating a sticky unread message ficon2_sticky_read - a sticky read message ficon3/ficon3_read - a locked unread/read message ficon4/ficon4_read - an unread/read message in a thread with more than 20 posts ip_off - link to check the IP-address and indicating that the user is offline ip_on - link to check the IP-address and indicating that the user is online last - link to the latest message in a forum mem - image for the member control center online - image for the user's online area stats - image for the statistics area in subfolder icon: 1 - just a message icon 2 - thumbs up 3 - thumbs down 4 - important message (with an exclamation mark) 5 - question (question mark) 6 - happy smiley 7 - angry smiley in subfolder code: There are the images for accessing pbcodes to include links etc. into a message. in subfolder ranks: ranks 1 to 5 and 10 to 12 are actually filling a row of 8 rank indicators, so rank12 has 8 filled rank indicators, rank1 has only 1 filled rank indicator - the other rank indicators are empty. rank12 is used for admins and friends as well (I should consider changing this) All images are gif files. Have fun! If you need assistance, let me know!
